Q: What is Summer Studio?
A: Summer Studio is an opportunity for high school students to participate in a fun-filled, interactive, and educational workshop. The workshops allows students to explore their artistic talents, and gain a better understanding of their careers options in visual and culinary arts. Additionally, they will enjoy a real-life college environment and gain a better understanding what it would be like to continue their education at an accredited
art college.
Q: What do they do at Summer Studio?
A: This year's theme "Amp Up Your Summer", provides teens the opportunity to collaborate with a rock band, a real-world client, and show off their creative chops as visual or culinary artists. Summer Studio offers something for every teenager, no matter what their art interest. For example, students interested in graphic design will work together to create the rock band’s logo and CD cover. Students who want to explore web design will be creating an interactive website for the band. The band will also get a deluxe design for their VIP Green Room created by students with a passion for interior design. Even prospective culinary artists will contribute with a backstage buffet for everyone to enjoy after the band’s concerts. These are just a few examples; all eleven of The Art Institute of Phoenix's programs will be involved in the workshop, providing the students with a better understanding of future career options.
